Today was the first day on Iceland! I was very excited and tired at the same time. We had a busy schedule as the day went on. Visiting the Blue Lagoon was amazing (it also woke me up) swimming near what once was lava was a once in a lifetime chance for me.

I also bought some medicine that will help me with my skin condition on my hands, since I forgot my medicine at home. Traveling around Iceland was amazing, amazing is all the words I have right now, I feel that I am in a shock still of seeing such beautiful landscapes that most people do not get to see very often. Seeing the landscapes and the nice weather, I wouldn't mind living in Iceland during the summer. We also traveled on a bus with our tour guide giving us information about the land, like History and the Science of the land (though I fell asleep on some of the ride, I still heard a lot of the details.). This is my first time on a ship, well living on a ship for two weeks! Now being very tired and wanting to explore the ship a bit more I would like to say hello to my friends and family (especially my mom. I love you :-)). All the students are safe here, with the SOI staff and crew members will take care and teach the amazing facts about this expedition to the places we will be traveling!
