SOI Antarctic Youth Expedition 2009: Youth Impressions
The following impressions were contributed by students while crossing the Drake Passage en route back to South America...
This experience has inspired me to bring home what I’ve learned, and not just for environmental causesl we can make a difference in any realm we want to!

This trip has been awesome. The things I saw and experienced were spectacular. I have learned that as Generation G we can make the change we want to and need. SOI is awesome!

It’s hard to think that we actually visited Antarctica. The whole experience was amazing. I learnt so much and saw land so seemingly raw and untouched. Something there is not much of now. It was mind-blowing and incredible.

In the end, we will protect only what we love. We will love only what we understand, and we will understand only what we know. We have come to know and understand Antarctica and the natural world. The task is ours to protect them.
This expedition has changed my life. I feel more in tune with myself and nature. I have loved traveling with SOI, all of the students and the amazing staff. I don’t want to leave! I will miss everything so much! There are no more words I can use to describe this experience… except, well, numinous! ~ Christina
